That's the error log that I'm getting.

Have no idea what error 17004 stands for and was hoping someone could enlighten me. I've searched all over Google but was only able to find an error description for 17002.

I only get this error code when I'm deploying to my VM so I know it's not a permissions issue, but to be sure I have also double checked that the computer account for SCCM has read/write perms.

Can anyone think of any other possible culprits?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Amy,

Thanks for your response, but I believe that specific line in the log is actually searching the local machine for the client. Since it can't find it, it's downloading it from my network share, which is normal. The above log I just posted is from a client where I successfully deployed it.  As mentioned in my OP, I only get this error message whenever I'm trying to deploy to a VM. Everything works fine when I'm deploying it to any other client machine.

I'm really hoping someone knows what that specific error message is pointing to as I cannot find any documentation online for it.

Having the same issue :(

I was able to deploy to 8.1 Enterprise, but 8.1 Pro doesn't like it.

I don't run any VMWare.

Any help please?

Had the same issue, turned out to be insufficient disk space. Increased my HDD to 40GBs and all ok now.

Fully agree with ctwyatt...Root cause is insufficient hard disk space on drive C:.

This is my scenario:

>Ofiice365 ProPlus package is more than 1Gb.

>First installation via SCCM has failed with error 0x426c (17004).

>Tried manual installation and command line execution immediately stopped.  This is failed as well.

>Checked target computer and found out it has less than 1Gb of available space.

>Free up space up to 2.2Gb but still has failed installation

>Free up space up to 4Gb and has SUCCESSFUL installation.

I had the same errorcode and i my case it was actually low discspace on a computer.

April 15th, 2015 1:58am

I was experiencing this issue installing Office 365 ProPlus on a network with a Proxy server.

I found running "netsh WinHTTP import proxy source=ie" to configure the WinHTTP proxy server settings resolved the issue for me.

There are some useful tips on enabling logging during the installation in http://idmintegration.com/blog/advanced-office-365-proplus-troubleshooting/

Good luck!
