Generate OAB Error
I have a problem when update Offline Address Book. Show 3 events in Event Viewer. Type: Error Event ID: 9344 Source: MSExchangeSA Category: OAL Generator Description: OALGen could not find the address list with the Active Directory object GUID of '/guid=3FCFF53536998542A7E0F5AE3C885529' in the list of available address lists. Please check the offline address list configuration object. Type: Warning Event ID: 9109 Source: MSExchangeSA Category: OAL Generator Description: OALGen encountered an error 8004010f (internal ID 5000878) while generating address list '/guid=3FCFF53536998542A7E0F5AE3C885529'. Check other logged events to see if this is a serious error. Type: Error Event ID: 9344 Source: MSExchangeSA Category: OAL Generator Description: OALGen encountered error 8004010f while initializing the offline address list generation process. Check to see what address lists you're including in your OAB. Ensure they all exist and are properly configured. Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!

Hi, First please follow the steps below to check settings for OAB. 1) Open Exchange Management Console 2) Click Server Configuration > Mailbox > Storage Group > Properties of Mailbox Database 3) Click the Client Settings tab 4) Click Browse next to the Offline Address Book field and select the Offline Address Book and click Ok. Please check the settings on Offline Address Book->Address List, there please verify if you have tick “Include the default Global Address List”. If not, then let me which address list it has included. Please check if you have OAB exist on Mailbox Server under \Exchange\ExchangeOAB folder. If not, I recommend you to create an new Offline Address Book. How to create an Offline Address Book http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124270(EXCHG.80).aspx After that, please try to restart File Distribution Services on Client Access Server and then check the issue again. Note: The File Distribution Service on Client Access Server copies the OAB files to \Exchange\ClientAccess\OAB folder Besides, please try to use get-offlineaddressbook |fl and then post the detail result here. Hi Xiu. I review you procedure and comments. The OAB is properly allocated in Database. The OAB only includes one Address List, does not include Global Address List. Folders exist in path Exchange\ExchangeOAB and \Exchange\ClientAccess\OAB. Hi, I note that it is the default Offline Address Book in your network. Please try to create a new OAB and then check the issue again. Also I would like to recommend you to click send/receive from outlook to see if any OAB download related issue occur there. Regards, Xiu
