From Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013

Hi,

I'm currently looking to move from Exchange 2007 to 2013 on new hardware, I'm not really worry about them coexisting.

Can I disconnect Exchange 2007 from the internet move all the mail boxes over to 2013 and let outlook update the profile.

Just thinking this would be easier and quicker than setting them up to coexist.

Any thoughts are welcome :-)Thanks

Chris

Please look on this well explained technet blog that provides step-wise instructions to accomplish this task in more easier way : http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2013/07/25/part-1-step-by-step-exchange-2007-to-2013-migration.aspx

Moreover, if you want to get this job done automatically, you may also consider on this automated software (http://www.exchangemailboxmigration.com/) that could be a good alternative approach for you.

Hi ccoogan2009,

Thank you for your question.

we could follow Ronnys advice.

In addition, we suggest there is a coexist environment when we migrate Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. Because if there are something wrong after we migrate user to Exchange 2013, we could migrate user back to Exchange 2007, it will not affect user to use. Message flow could go to Internet by Exchange 2013 When Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013 are coexisted. After we migrate user to Exchange 2013 for a period without any problems, we could remove Exchange 2007 on organization.

We could refer to the following link:

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Jim
