Fresh install of Exchange Server 2003 telling me I need to run Administrative Delegation Wizard before forestprep
My server originally had a new installation of Exchange 2003. The machine was reformatted mistakenly (don't ask) without removing the Exchange installation from Active Directory. I just ran the Exchange setup again with the /removeorg switch to clean up Active Directory. Now when I am trying to run Forestprep again, it is telling me:The component "Microsoft Exchange Forest Preparation" cannot be assigned the action "ForestPrep" because:- To install the first Exchange server in a domain, or to run setup in /forestprep mode, you must be an Exchange Full Administrator at the organization level. You must use an account that has been granted the Full Exchange Administrator role on the Exchange organization using the Exchange Administrative Delegation Wizard. My problems I am facing, aside from this obvious one, is that when I go to ADSI edit I can only connect to the domain settings. There is no CONFIGURATION drop down anymore so I can't check for remaining Exchange objects. Also, since Exchange isn't installed yet, I can't access the Administrative Delegation Wizard.

Hi, You can install the administrative tools only and see if that will allow you to delegate the necessary permissions. Leif
