Free Busy Outlook 2003 Exchange 2007 PFs
Hi Currently i have meeting rooms set to update free busy information every 1 minute, the outlook 2003 mailboxes are set to autoaccept. Problem. When a room is booked and automatically accepted the resource information is not visible from an outlook client for 15 minutes even though the schedule is set to 1 minute updates. If you view the resource via OWA the free busy info is up to date and shows the room as busy. Any ideas cheers

Could it be PF replication latency? The replication interval for PF is set to 15 minutes on default in Exchange 2007. Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!

Is this Behavior for Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. If it is Outlook 2003 then it because of the Public Folder Replication Interval. What happens when you close the Outlook and Open it again. Does the Free Busy gets updated.Ashwin Raj

Hi Mike I have configured all mailboxes including resource ones to use the same public folder database on the same server. The replication is to a backup server. Cheers

I have configured all mailboxes including resource ones to use the same public folder database on the same server. The replication is to a backup server. Restarting outlook makes no difference, when you open free busy to view the resource it is still not shown as booked.

Ok what about Outlook in Online Mode. Does it show the right Free Busy information in the Online Mode. And what about Outlook? Is it Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. Ashwin Raj

Its outlook 2003 using online mode. It seems even if the resource it set to update every minute the default of 15 minutes remains....

Ashwin Raj Free/Busy information is not affected by online mode. There may be some outlook settings to override this behavior, but normally it wouldn't be a factor. Have you pressed ctrl+ right-click the taskbar icon and clicked "connection status" to ensure the PF DB is selected as you expect? You could be connecting to the 2007 server initially, but if the free/busy folder isn't complete or present it will refer back to another server. Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!

Hi Mike Definately connecting to the correct PF DB, looking through the outlook settings I have set the free busy update from the client to update every 1 minute. Now I am not sure if this is not working or if the PFs only refresh their published data via another exchange setting... Thanks

As soon as a change is made to one's calendar the PF is updated by the client software making the change. Mike Crowley Check out My Blog!
