Free/busy time, subject, location permission setting
We have Exchange 2007 SP1and a mix of Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2003 clients. We have no issues with the calendars for the Outlook 2003 clients, and viewing the appointments of those users, but when we set the Calendar permissions on an Outlook 2007 client to Free/Busy time, subject, location, and then anotheruser (using either Outlook 2003or 2007)views their calendar, thecalendar appears blank.

Hi,
That is by design. If you configure the published free/busy time like that you can only see whats happening when scheduling meetings and hover over the busy time.

What's the point in not showing this in the regular calendar? If it was possible to seethefree/busy timesin a calendarit would be a great feature, not showing it is just a big disappointment and it's really hard to explain it to the enduser. Why would I have to schedule a dummy meeting with a user to see when there's free or busy time, that's just clumsy.
Any chance someone will re-design?

That's a strangedesign! If I can see the information by hovering, why shouldn't I be able to see it in the calendar?

If this is by design then someone needs to get back to the drawing table...There is no point in hiding calendar items if you can still see them in the meeting scheduler.The Outlook 2007 calendar sharing UI does not give any indication that other users will not be able to see anything when they open your calendar, which is not brilliant either!Our requirement is to be able to hide the body and/or attachmentsof meetings/appointments for certain users.We still want users to be able to see the subject and other information. Setting all the appointments/meetings to Private is not an option.

Just read in the German Office 2007 Support, that this will be solved in the Office 2010 version and Free/Busy time, subject, location -Permissions will be working on the Calendar-Folder itself - so other users will see this info in the shared calendar (not only in meeting scheduling view).

Can this be done in Outlook 2007 or is it left to die and only got fixed in 2010?
