Free/Busy Works with OWA, not with Outlook
We upgraded from Ex2000 to Ex2007. We have two Exchange servers, one being a mailbox server, the other having other roles and is Internet facing. The old server is no longer available. Free/Busy works with OWA, staff can review availability of others when scheduling. Free/Busy is NOT available in Outlook, any version, 2000, 2003, 2007. If it works in OWA, what do we do to have it work in Outlook?

Exchange 2007 OWA doesn't use Public Folders to access free/busy information. So, in OWA you will always see up to date free/busy information as it uses web services. Same applies to outlook 2007. Can you access OOF/OAB from outlook 2007? All these services use autodiscover along with free/busy.http://exchange2007blog.blogspot.com/2007/07/exchange-2007-freebusy-feature.htmlhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb397225.aspxhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc539049.aspxhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124251.aspxFor other oulook clients, have you moved public folders (free/busy system folder) to exchange 2007 when upgrading. Check the client settings tab in mailbox database properties and select exchange 2007 public folder database.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997902.aspxhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996946(EXCHG.65).aspx
