Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Under 'SendConnectors', there was already an entry called Internet and the status was enabled. After I open it, am I supposed to configure any of the tabs? The general tab has nothing for the 'FQDN' entry. The Address Space tab has an SMTP type, but no address - what is this address referring to? The Network tab has the first bullet selected. And the Source Server tab has my email server listed. In Address space type "*" without quotes in place of network chosse DNS mx if you are not using any smart host. Above setting is to relay mails on internet.. if you are able to relay mail on internet and your question is only how to forward received mails on external id then follow the same:- 1) Create a contact with external email id and then put this contact address as a forwarder in recipient mailbox. After doing so whenver recipient mailbox will get any message it will automatically forward to external mail id coz you configured forwarder for the same mailbox here. Thanks Amit Rawat

It already had the * in that field - so I'm confused. This is my goal - I have several users who don't check their Exchange account. They would rather have emails sent to their jsmith@mydomain.org automatically forwarded to their personal address, like jsmith@gmail.com I have setup rules for others that automatically forwards emails internally (to those internally on the Exchange system). But, if I setup a rule, and request it to be forwarded to that jsmith@gmail.com address, it doesn't work. I did create a contact in his address book with jsmith@gmail.com, then selected that address as the one to forward to, but it's not working. Am I missing something?

Greetings - I have a new Exchange 2010 server. My users are unable to forward email they receive on their client to an external email address. I see several TID's that mention this feature needs to be enabled on the server side - but I can't seem to find eactly where it's located on Exchange 2010, in the Management Console. You need to creat a MailContact in Exchange then take the properties of the user's mailbox and in the Mail Flow Settings Tab click Delivery Options and then check mark Forward Address and then browse to that Mail Contact. Now each and every email sent to this exchange will automatically forwarded to their personal email address. I have done it many times.

yes, the receive connector is turnd on by default. The connector is listening for all IP Adreseses. it might be useful only to accept SMTP Connection from a definied Mailserver perhaps the mailserver of you ISV. Your first target should be to ralay email on Intenet through your exchange and then follow the step what i have mentioned above. This should be working. I have configured it for many clients. Thanks Amit Rawat
