Forwarded Email
I am performing a server consolidation and migration to an Exchange environment that is in another forest. There are several mailboxes created in the legacy environment with forwarding addresses that route to the new forest exchange enviornment.
What I am trying to do is find a way, "hopefully via script" to identify if a mailbox has sent a forwarded email and when. However, I test with a my test mailbox and then run a script that checks for last sent message, it shows as blank
for me as if it has never sent a message. I do not use this mailbox as my primary mailbox only as a test for this consolidation effort in the legacy forest environment. The Exchange environment is 2003, and if there is a VBScript that can do
this please let me know as I am up against the wire. Appreciate you, todonotes

hi,

If you open the target mailbox, can you find the message in the mailbox? If you can, it means that the message has been delivered to the target
mailbox. I want to say that your issue is caused by the script.
Please confirm my doubts.

I receive the message in my mailbox in the destination forest exchange mailbox. So I know the message is being delivered. However, I need to know for all other users that have forwarded mailbox. We have a total of 18K mailboxes and I need to ensure which
are active/valid mailboxes, and several have forwarding enabled. That is what I am trying to validate. I ran a script for target address, but does that well me that the messages are being delivered? I also ran a script that identified messages with a forwarding
address on them and they are not consistent. Which is the cause of my concern. It would be ok if they were off by only a few, but my numbers differ by thousands.
Recommendation?Appreciate you, todonotes

hi,
Since the message has been delivered to the target mailbox, it means that your exchange has no problem. According to your description, i know that your requirement is that using a script to monitor the forward status. In my mind, exchange can't directly
provide the feature to you. I think only a script can help you. I recommend that you can ask help from the script fourm. Asking them write a script for you or modify the current script for you to match your requirement.
hope can help you
