Forefront for 2010 licensing question
Hi, I'm having a hard time finding out what licensing I need to install Forefront for Exchange 2010 server. Here is what I'm planning, and my question is below that: Windows Server 2008 R2, Standard Ed. Exchange 2010, Standard Ed. License Exchange 2010 Client Access Licenses, Standard Ed. Now I understand that the Forefront licenses are purchased on a per-user basis, in what appears to be a 1-year period. What I don't understand is what to get. According to this page: http://www.microsoft.com/forefront/protection-for-exchange/en/us/pricing-licensing.aspx, I can get an Exchange Enterprise CAL and that will enable me to have "Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server". Does that mean I have to purchase Exchange 2010 client access licenses Enterprise Ed, in addition to the Standard CALs I mention above (since you buy Exchange 2010 CAL Standard edition and "upgrade" them to Enterprise CALs)? If I purchase the licenses for the users, how do I install Forefront? Will it prompt me for a License key? Does this key come with one of the several Forefront user CALs I purchase? Before someone directs me to (800) 426-9400, option 4, I've already called them, and they don't know the answer either (pretty bad when Microsoft can't even sort out their own licensing requirements). I don't want to purchase the necessary Windows Server/Exchange Server/Exchange client CALs and then find out I needed something else because Forefront doesn't work with the licenses I already bought. Thanks for any help that is provided.
