Forcing Active Directory and Exchange 2003 to Synch
Hi There, I am sorry if this topic has already been discussed. I have searched and could not find anything.... I was wanting to know how I can force AD and Exch to synch. When i make changes in AD the changes are not replicating to Exch. If I wait overnight, I usually can see the changes the next day. However, yester I made some changes, waited and they are not updated in Exch today. This si the first time I have seen this happen. Is there any way I can force AD and Exch to synch. Thanks!!! Debbie

Hi, if you are refering to your Exchange recipients information or address book not updating immediately, you need to force the Recipeint Update service to update now. You can do it via ESM. But the delay usually is only a few mins, not an entire day. Another delay could be due to AD replication as Exchange will use the "closest" DC/GC for its directory info. So if the modification to AD is not on the DC that is in the same site as your Exchange server, you will need to wait for the replication to replicate to your site or you can force the replication If you still encounter problem, check out the msexchangeteam blog for RUS troubleshooting tips. http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2004/07/07/175444.aspx http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2004/07/15/184356.aspx http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2004/07/22/191513.aspx Cheers
