Folders on D drive despite installing Exchange 2013 on the E drive.

2 folder were created during install of Exchange 2013.

  • D:\MonitoringDiagnosticLogs\MSExchangeHMHost
  • D:\TransportRoles\Logs\SyncHealth

I have read several sites about Microsoft is aware of this.

The question  also has been asked, when is there going to be a fix?

1 Why would any folders be created anywhere except where Exchange is installed?

2 How to move those folders to the E drive? ( I read it is hardcoded to the D drive )

Hi davetehc,

Base on my knowledge, "D:\TransportRoles\Logs\SyncHealth" folder issue had been resolved in CU5, you can refer to the following KB article:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2924519

However, for "MSExchangeHMHost" folder issue, I have never heard that there is any resolution or workaround, it is still a bug.

In addition, it happens only on drive D:\. If drive D:\ is your DVD player and the additional disk is E:\ the directories are not created. You can try to delete this folder directly.

Best regards,
