Folder Permissions Very Slow
Hi All, We have recently moved to a microsoft file system from a novell one and we have some issues with our folder permissions. If I add new permissions to a folder using the security tab, it can take hours for them to apply. The time seems to depend on how many subfiles/folders there are under the particular folder I am assigning rights to. It makes some sense to me, in that the system is going through and processing rights down the structure. But, I can't imagine that it should be taking this long to assign rights. I've done some searches for potential solutions to this, but haven't found anything. Is there a patch or anything that I need to do to decrease the time it takes for permissions to apply? Thanks

Hello, It seems the current issue is a Windows Server issue. Please understand that we mainly discuss Exchange issues in this forum. As your issue is related to Windows Server, we are not the best resource to troubleshoot the issue. I suggest writing a post on the Windows Server Directory Services forums, for your convenience, I have included the link below. http://forums.technet.microsoft.com/en-US/winserverDS/threads/ I hope your issue will be fixed soon. Thanks, Elvis
