First Set up
Hello all, I have a client that is currently getting email from a third party provider. They would like to end service with this provider and host email locally. They have a Server running Win Server 2008 and has Exchange 2007 installed. (this was all set up by someone else) As I have never set up an exchange server before or done an email provider change, I don't know where to start. Can some one point me in the right direction? If this post is in the wrong location please let me know, I will repost where ever needed. (new to Technet forums)

Hi, First of all create the DNS Entries which are A records and MX Records and if you are using Edge Transport so your entries should point to Edge but if you are using Directly HUB Transport than entries should point to HUB than create receive connector on your HUB or even Edge Transport Server with Anonymous authentication also create send connector for emails to be sent to other domains. As its a huge process so I M pasting some links kindly read them carefully. http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/11/17/431555.aspx http://araihan.wordpress.com/2009/11/16/exchange-server-2010-edge-transport-role/ For Edge Transport http://araihan.wordpress.com/2009/11/16/exchange-server-2010-edge-transport-role/ I hope this will help you also if further assistance needed I will glad to support you.
