Few questions about Exchange 2007
Hello! I have some questions about work Exchange 2007. I cant find this information on TechNet. If I use LCR I can backup passive database. Thats great, but how it mirror on transaction logs passive/active database. Do I need sometimes backup active database for reduce transaction logs? In Exchange Server We have Exchange Server Administrator role. In Help Iread that Exchange Server Administrator have permissions: Exchange View-Only and Local Administrator. Ok, I create user in AD and add to Exchange Server Administrator Role on my Exchange Server. After that I see user in Exchange View-Only group, but he dont add to Local Administrators group on Exchange Server and i can't logon with this account to server. Why? Why attachment filter dont work on Hub Server?

1. no, a vss based backup of the passive node will tell the active node to clear logs 2. You have to use the EMC to assign the exchange roles, not ADUC, and you'd need to be a local admin to log on locally to most any server by default. 3. More details?

Thank you! 2. I use EMC to add Exchange Server Administrator for anotheruser account. This account automaticallyadd to Exchange View-Only, but dont add to Local Admins. In Help I see: Exchange Server Administrators Role The Exchange Server Administrators role has access to only local server Exchange configuration data, either in the ActiveDirectory or on the physical computer on which Exchange2007 is installed. Users who are members of the Exchange Server Administrators role have permissions to administer a particular server, but do not have permissions to perform operations that have global impact in the Exchange organization. Exchange2007 creates this administrator role during setup. Members of the Exchange Server Administrator role have the following permissions: Owner of all local server configuration data. As owners, members of the role have full control over the local server configuration data. Local administrator on the computer on which Exchange is installed. Members of the Exchange View-Only Administrators role. Strange. 3. http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/migration-deployment/configuring-mail-flow-single-exchange-server-2007.html How about the Attachment filtering? This feature is only available on the Edge Transport Server role, but we can use Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange that includes this functionality with extra options to filter attachments, and itcan beinstalled on asingle Exchange Server box. Why only Edge?
