Featured templates are missing from Visio 2013

Tried to post a picture but it would not let me.

When you open Visio 2013 it shows "Basic Diagram" and "Blank Drawing" but no other templates. The message below those two says "We don't have any featured templates right now". On other PCs in this lab they are there but on 6 they do not show up.

Hi Alan,

Did you get the error like this?

If yes, as far as I know, this issue may be caused by some factors.

One:

Visio 2013 was not activated. Please try to activate it.

Two:

Please click "Categories" to check if the templates are existed. If we still can't see them, I'm afraid the default build-in templates are corrupted somehow and we need to copy a healthy one from another computer.

Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\Visio Content\1033 (32bit)

C:\Program Files \Microsoft Office\Office15\Visio Content\1033 (64 bit).

Hope it's helpful.

Had the same issue in Word and Excel 2013 (Visio was showing the featured templates). Here's what worked for me:

In the top right corner Visio displays the current user and gives a link to 'switch account' - click on that link.

A pop-up window called "Accounts" opens, and right under the title there are two tabs: "Switch Account" and "Sign out"

Click on "Sign out" tab, select your account and sign-out. A warning message will be displayed saying it's going to delete the settings for the user, etc.

Once the account is removed close the "Accounts" pop-up.

Now sign-in again. Visio will re-create your account and hopefully the featured templates will show up again. Good luck!
