Faulty OAL entries in Exchange 2003
Hi AllWe are running Exchange 2003 SP2. We have multiple domains - uk.kam.com, us.kam.com, japan.kam.comI am in uk.kam.comI notice that we received an error 9320 in the Application event log of our OAB server (each domain has an OAB server).>>Description: OALGen could not generate full details for some entries in the offline address list for address list '\Global Address List'. To see which entries are affected, event logging for the offline address list generator must be set to at least medium.<<So, I turned on the OAL Generator diagnostic logging to medium so I could catch the offending entries. There are quite a few, and most don't relate to our domain. Couple of questions;i) Is it possible to get an export of these entries (they are all Event ID 9324) into Excel/CSV format?ii) Is it possible to filter these by my domain (uk.kam.com) only?iii) Will incorrect entries in other domains cause problems for our OAB?Hope someone can help!

i, ii) You can use EventComb utility available in Resource Kit of Windows 2003. It is very powerful tool to filter event logs based on all criteria locally or remotely and export to a file which can be opened in Excel. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9D467A69-57FF-4AE7-96EE-B18C4790CFFD&displaylang=en iii) Yes, because OAL is the offline replica of Global Address List which is global for all domains in your Exchange environment. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/support/ee/transform.aspx?ProdName=Exchange&ProdVer=6.5.7638.0&EvtID=9320&EvtSrc=MSExchangeSA&LCID=1033 Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
