Failing over Exchange 2010 Databases
Hello We are running Exchange 2010 SP1. We have the following set up: 1 DAG split between London and Paris. DAG has 6 servers, 3 in each site. We have about 80 databases altogether. Two of the servers are lag servers. At the moment, the 80 active databases are distributed evenly between four servers LON1, LON2, PAR1, PAR2. All DB's are on their Preference1 server We need to perform some hardware maintenance on LON1, so need to redistribute the DB's evenly between LON2, PAR1 and PAR2, i.e. the DB's on LON1 need to be activated on their Preference 2 server. What's the best way to do this? - Simply reboot LON1? - Use a command in Powershell? Any advise would be appreciated!

I would just manually activate all the stores on LON1 to the other servers. Then put LON1 into maintenance mode using the built in scripts: StartDagServerMaintenance.ps1 and StopDagServerMaintenance.ps1 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd298065.aspx#Pm
