Failed Install... failed uninstall... do I have to remove the AD components manually?
Hello there,After a failed install of Exchange 2007 where everything would install except the mailbox role I couldn't figure out how to uninstall it properly as I couldn't find out how to remove the public folders by deleting them, all that I could find through google said to move them to another exchange server and as this will be our first, we didn't have that.Sooooo, being impulsive and stupid I just formatted the server and started over not thinking how this may affect AD.So what I basically need to know is, can I install Exchange 2007 again using the same server name, etc. ORcan I remove all of the exchange data from AD manually through ADSIEDIT?Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

You can remove the Exchange 2007 organization using ADSIEDIT. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998313.aspx You can also run Exchange 2007 setup with recoverserver option. The following article details the recoverserver option in detail. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998656(EXCHG.80).aspx
