External smarthost, multiple Exchange servers
Exchange 2003 SP2We've just recently subscribed to a managed anti-spam solution. As part of that solution they ask that we specify a smarthost to forward all SMTP traffic to. That was easy enough, I just went into the SMTP connector under "Routing Groups" and set the smart host. With multiple Exchange servers in the same site, how can I ensure that all outbound SMTP traffic funnels out of the same Exchange server? Is the local bridgehead specified on the General tab of the SMTP connector the server that will handle all outbound SMTP traffic?Thanks.-Kevin

Yes you are correct It is the SMTP connector that specifies which servers can send email to the internet If you have only one server in the general tab then only that server can send to the internet The SMTPConnector overrules all SMTP virtual server configuration Deli
