Exchange 2007 So I exported a mailbox in EMS using the information from this MS article: How to Export Mailbox Data. This created a a nice 8 GB PST file called ThisUser.pst (Name made up to protect the innocent) ;) I then copied the PST over to a local machine, that has Outlook 2010 installed, and tried to mount the data file. When I do, I get a message to the following: file file access denied. you do not have the permission required to access the file pst Any ideas of what I may be doing wrong? I do have this on the local machine, off the root of the C drive. No, the read-only bit is not set. Yes, I took ownership of the file. Yes, I implicitly set full access rights with the account that is attempting to access this (NOTE: The account (mine) is not the same as the exported account). Maybe I did something incorrect with the export (even though successful). I did use an account that had full access permissions to do the export (but again, that was not the same account neither as the account I am using in outlook). Any ideas? Thanks... James :)

Tried both, the profile and the article suggestions. No sch luck. Even SCANPST states the file as "Read only" and even when selecting continue to scan, immediately bombs out. I'm thinking severely corrupted PST. I'll try exporting the mailbox again, and see if it works out this time.

Hi Tandy, What is included in the PST file? the whole maibox or just some specific mailbox filders? And how did you "mount" the pst file in Outlook 2010? Generally we use Import tool in File/Open; alternatively, we may open the pst file via Open Outlook Data File.
