I am trying to export mailboxes of staff that are no longer with our company. THe server is exchange 2010 with rollup 4. It also has blackberry express installed. when i try to export i get the following error. Is there any way around this without having to install outlook To export to or import from a .pst file, the 64-bit version of Outlook 2010 or later must be installed on the server to which you are connecting (Servername. berkshire.loc). + CategoryInfo : NotInstalled: (:) [], RecipientTaskException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : D9CC2E80 [PS] C:\Users\exchadmin\Desktop>Stonecold31666

You need to install SP1 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=50b32685-4356-49cc-8b37-d9c9d4ea3f5b first and then you will not need to have Outlook installed. This also fixed several issues regarding export/import You should also install SP1 RU2 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=0059546f-f43d-4c7e-8367-81c6d5642bf3&displaylang=en since it has many more fixes that will serve you well. If by chance you are interested in alternate methods to do export/imports from the production server or offline/backup of the Exchange database files check out Lucid8's DigiScope http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp Troy Werelius www.Lucid8.com

Yes, you need install Service Pack 1 for Exchange 2010 to avoid installing Outlook 2010 on the server. Exchange 2010 SP1 removes the requirement to have Outlook x64 installed by including an in-built MAPI provider. I did the update and ran into a couple issues. first was the federated mailbox was messed missing so i had to fix that. after that the upgrade went and I made sure all updates were installed. I was able to export mailboxes today. The problem I have now is that webmail does not work. I posted about it earlier as a new question. Get same error internally or externally. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010/thread/ebbfaac1-f72c-4bc1-bef6-306500373478 Stonecold31666
