Export Mailbox - MAPI or an unspecified service provider
I am working through an acquisition right now and am in the process of exporting everyone's mailboxes to PST's About 1 out of every 10 mailboxes i run an export on fails with the below error....I moved one of the failing mailboxes to another database and that seemed to correct the issue. However, me doing that, screws up my archiving software. Permissions are set correctly and exchange is up to date. If I had to guess, i would say it has something to do with a corrupted mailbox or database. With one of my failures, i was able to successfully export after -exclude the deleted items folder. Is there a fix for this? Here is my syntax.... Get-Mailbox -Identity johnd -ResultSize Unlimited | Export-mailbox -PSTFolderPath P:\ -StartDate 7/1/10 -baditemlimit 100 Export-Mailbox : Error was found for John Doe (John.Doe@nowhere.com) because : Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to the d estination mailbox store with error: MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000, error code: -1056749164

My Apologies.... Exchange 2007 SP1 Rollup 10

Any reason you haven't gone up to Exchange 2007 SP2? There were some changes in the way things were handled in that update. While you are only exporting, if it is causing an issue, the time for the upgrade might be worth it. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP. http://blog.sembee.co.uk , http://exbpa.com/

Hi, Most of these errors are caused by the corrupted mailbox. Try to give full access permission for your account, and then perform import once again: Open EMS, type: Add-MailboxPermission -identify <the failed mailbox> -User "<YourUserName>" -AccessRights FullAccess What's result? If the issue persists, you may need to create a new mailbox for the user. Thanks for your response Gen... this was the first step i took... however... it did not fix the problem and exchange states that i already have full rights on the box... WARNING: Appropriate ACE is already present on object "CN=<user>,OU=ExMergeNOC,OU=Users,OU=NOC OU,DC=us,DC=domain,DC=com" for account "US\johndoe"

Hi, Is it possible to export the pst file from outlook client? Please create a new mailbox database on the same storage group and move the mailbox to it. In the Move options, select the "Skip the corrupted messages", set the value to 100. Then perform the export task again. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
