Export-Mailbox *without* giving Exchange Server Administrator Role?
Does anyone have a clever way to grant the ability for admins to use the Export-Mailbox cmdlet without giving them the Exchange Server Administrator Role membership? Giving this role is unacceptable in our org as we are more like a hosting provider and use the split-permissions model to grand recipient admins the ability to manage only their OU's users. We need those admins to be able to export mailboxes like they could with Exmerge on 2003, but giving them this role is not doable. Any ideas? :) Thank you in advance.Brian Day, Overall Exchange & AD Geek

Brian-You could try and continue using exmerge http://www.exchangeinbox.com/article.aspx?i=88. This isn't microsoft supported, but it might be worth a look if you're unable to find an alternative solution.Michael

Hi Brain,
Based on my test, you can add the user account to Exchange View-Only Administrators group and grant the user Full Mailbox permission to the mailbox in order to export information from the mailbox
