Existing users not showing up in global address book, but show up under all users
Ok, so I know this is a widley discussed topic, and I've looked everywhere and tried multiple fixes but it still doesn't work, so any help is GREATLY appreciated. I have a existing user that is not showing up in the Global Address List, but shows
up under All Users. When I change outlook to run NOT in cache mode, the user shows up. I've downloaded the address book, restarted 2 different services on the server, checked AD, changed e-mail address in exchange shell, checked ADSI, and everything
looks correct as far as user name and smtp e-mail addresses. Any ideas?

Based on the information that you have supplied, absolutely none.
No version information for a start of anything, which makes any kind of assistance impossible.

So you checked everything except the Application log on the OAB
generation server? That's probably where you'll find the problem. You
may have to increase the logging level for the OAB generation and
regenerate the OAB but I'll be there's something wrong with that user.
Maybe the "mail" attribute doesn't match the primary SMTP proxy
address?

Which Exch version?
Client version?
Distribution menthod?
Issue with all users who cant see this one user?
create a new user and wait and see if they turn up in the OAB. If they do, then you know there's an issue with this one user and not your OAB generation.Sukh

Hello,
This is obviously an OAB issue in Outlook cached mode.
What’s the Exchange version do you use. If it is possible, please collect the following information for further research:
1. Manually download the OAB and check if there are any error code.
2. [Check AutoConfiguration Status in Outlook]
===================================
a. While Outlook is running, click the CTRL key and then right-click the Outlook icon in the system tray and then select “Test Email Autoconfiguration”.
b. Confirm that your email address is in the address field, uncheck “Use Guessmart” and “secure Guessmart authentication” boxes.
Then click the “Test” button.
c. Once it runs, Check the Log tab and Results tab.
3. Check the Application log on Exchange MBX and CAS server.
Thanks,
Simon

Thanks guys for your help. The next day I came in to work, we were still having the issue. However, the second day after we did this, the user showed up. So, I'm assuming it was something with OAB or the replication time it took.

Hello,
It is normal that you may need to wait at least 24 hours to wait for the OAB generating and publishing.
Generally, the OAB will be updated when online maintenance and the default publish time should be
480 minutes.
Thanks,
Simon
