Exhange 2013 SP1 - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Hello,

We are receiving the below error while trying to install Exchange 2013 CU5 or CU6 on our Exchange Server running on Exchange 2013 SP1 on W2012R2

The only thing I can suggest is to do the upgrade using the command line in an elevated command window.

Hi,

According to this post, something went wrong when starting prepare configuration. Please check the Exchange setup logs for more details and post them for us to troubleshoot this issue. And please try to run the setup from Windows PowerShell to check this issue.

Refer to this article for preparation.

Everything is OK until preparing the following groups

'LanguagePacks','BridgeheadRole','FrontendTransportRole','ClientAccessRole','UnifiedMessagingRole','MailboxRole','AdminToolsRole','CafeRole''  

Please try to use /PrepareAD to create those groups and run the setup from Windows PowerShell.
