Exchange won't accept mail from member servers in domain
We have recently transitioned from 2003 to 2007 Exchange and now none of our servers - which used to be able to send mail (for system stuff like virus alerts) to the mailboxes on the Exchange server - can no longer do so. I believe this is a client connector issue in that the server IP is in the same domain as the Exchange 2007 but for some reason the Exchange server will not accept the mail on its default connector. I have tried creating custom connectors for the individual servers that need to mail Exchange with no luck. Any help would be great as we have a number of systems that rely heavily on this service, thanks.

Add the member server IP address on the relay list , so that they can relay through exchange server. Check this out. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee428173.aspxRaj

Thanks Raj - I follow the article and every time I attempt to create a custom connector it tells me its conflicting with the default connector. The settings for the default connector are the default -Local IP Address - All available addresses (25)Remote - All addresses I have had success with creating a connector for a linux server that is not joined to the domain however any boxes joined to the domain fail to submit to the Exch box. On a windows 2003 box trying to send to the Exchange 2007 box this is the error I get in the system log -"Event Type: WarningEvent Source: smtpsvcEvent Category: NoneEvent ID: 4000Date: 15/10/2009Time: 11:56:46User: N/AComputer: MIRZAM2Description:Message delivery to the remote domain 'breconbeacons.org' failed for the following reason: The remote server did not respond to a connection attempt.
