Exchange stopped working after doing windows update on SBS 2007
Hello, Our exchange server has stopped delivering emails after running the windows update on our SBS server. We are running Exchange server 2008, on our SBS 2007. I can see the server for exchange is running in local services, but when I use the "Microsoft Exchange Troubleshooting assistant" to look for failures, it responds: Found 1 failure events for all processes. This error provides no further information or specifies what the error is, or steps to resolve it I don't see any alerts or error messages, and I was only alerted to the issue because all incoming, and outgoing mails failed to be delivered. Should I be using a different tool to troubleshoot Exchange issues? **edit** I just ran a troubleshooting assistant for mail not being received by users, and it returned this error: Network Adapter IPv6 Address not supported Exchange server is not capable of supporting Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) addresses on server SBS. An IPv6 address was found on adapter Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet. Any help is greatly appreciated. ~ Confused

I recommend you post your question to the SBS newsgroup since they're more versed on the interdependencies and interrelationships between the various components of SBS. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/smallbusinessserver/threadsEd Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Please check the article below which give more idea on IPV6 with Exchange Server component. IPv6 Support in Exchange 2007 SP1 and SP2 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb629624(EXCHG.80).aspx Actually, in Windows 2008, the IPV6 cannot be disabled completely even though the interface and connection is disabled. At this stage, I suggest you refer to the following article to troubleshoot the issue. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrtransport/thread/a9b1a718-7b22-4678-aa91-c8ecebb4c6fa Thanks.
