Exchange server queue.....
When looking in the exchange server outgoing mail queue, I noticed quite a few things that are stuck. When I click on them I get one of the following errors.... -unable to open the message for delivery. -the connection was dropped by the remote host. Any ideas?

Are you sure there's SMTP server for the email address? Look up the MXrecord(s) for the domain and get the associated A record(s). Try asimple "telnet <ipaddress> 25" from the Exchange server. Does itreturn a 220 banner? If there's no MX record then the domain's A record will be used.Typically that's going to point to a web server.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Well, the strange thing is, some thing are going through just fine, some things are getting stuck. Then, I see that there are a quite a few people trying to send to a yahoo email address and they are getting stuck......just for fun, I tried sending to my yahoo account and it indeed became stuck, however, I then tried to send to my friend's yahoo account and it went through just fine.

I'm by no means an exchange admin. hahaI did an nslookup for the domains in question......take yahoo for example. It seems some mail is going through to yahoo and some is stuck....here is what the nslookup reported back for yahoo...yahoo.com MX Preference = 1, mail exchanger = f.mx.mail.yahoo.comyahoo.com MX Preference = 1, mail exchanger = g.mx.mail.yahoo.comyahoo.com MX Preference = 1, mail exchanger = h.mx.mail.yahoo.comyahoo.com MX Preference = 1, mail exchanger = a.mx.mail.yahoo.comyahoo.com MX Preference = 1, mail exchanger = b.mx.mail.yahoo.comyahoo.com MX Preference = 1, mail exchanger = c.mx.mail.yahoo.comyahoo.com MX Preference = 1, mail exchanger = d.mx.mail.yahoo.comf.mx.mail.yahoo.com interenet address = 98.137.54.237g.mx.mail.yahoo.com interenet address = 38.137.54.238a.mx.mail.yahoo.com interenet address = 67.195.168.230a.mx.mail.yahoo.com interenet address = 67.195.168.31b.mx.mail.yahoo.com interenet address = 74.6.136.65c.mx.mail.yahoo.com interenet address = 206.190.54.127d.mx.mail.yahoo.com interenet address = 209.191.88.254Now here's what is reported back when I do an nslookup for a domain that no mail has been able to go to.thelondonspineclinic.com primary name server = ns1.domainservice.com responsible mail adde = dnsadmin.moniker.com serial = 2009121900 refresh = 10800 retry = 3600 expire = 604800 default TTL = 21600
