Exchange server and catch all email
Hi! please forgive me if I make litle sense here, servers scare the *** out of me and I've managed to avoid them up until now.Our server is set up to receive all emails to *@ourdomain.com and then it uses exchange to distribute them to relevant accounts based on the address. That's my understanding anyway. Either way, it has been working fine up until today. Recently we have also been logging straight onto our 1and1 server to check the same mail through webmail, again without problem. Until today as we now can not log in through the webmail due to a wrong password... (not sure why, possibly forgotten) and unfortunately the password for the catch-all * mailbox has been reset so that it could be accessed through the website again. Obviously this is now not working with our server and we are unable to send/receive emails from our machines running outlook connceted to the server.I think the previous password is long gone so I'm hoping I can change the password on exchange to match the new one on our 1and1 server and this will fix the problem. Can somebody please give me some directions as to where these settings should be on the server? Thanks in advance!

I assume that you are using 1&1s exchange mail solution, and users cannot connect outlook with exchange server or access mailbox via webmail Do all users unable to send/receive mails? If yes, I suggest you to contact 1&1s support in order to troubleshoot on the host server. If not, assuming that the cause is on the client side, then please provide the detailed error info on the both outlook and webmail

Hi, thanks for getting back to me!I'm unsure if we're using 1&1s exchange mail, there's no sign of it in the admin so I would assume not. But then again i don't know what it is so i could be overlooking it!When everything works as it should, users can only get to their emails through outlook connecting to our exchange server. The only webmail we have is the *@ourdomain.com which our exchange server connects to.The cause of the problem was when the password for the *@ourdomain.com mailbox was changed and so I thought a fix would be as easy as amending the password on our server to match? Thanks again.
