Exchange server 2013 CU6 IMAP broken with French locale

Folks,

Just installed CU6 (from CU3) on our Exchange 2013 server and all the sudden the server is misbehaving with French-locale clients.

Basically is chokes when being requested access to accented charters-named folders, such as "lments envoys" (sent items):

Server says this folder exists: 11:55:58 S: * LIST (\Marked \HasNoChildren) "/" "&AMk-l&AOk-ments envoy&AOk-s"

But fails when it is requested

05:01:08 Selecting mailbox: lments envoys
05:01:08 C: C12 SELECT "&AMk-l&AOk-ments envoy&AOk-s"
05:01:08 Error: Server response: C12 NO Server Unavailable. 15.

100% reproducible with various IMAP clients. Just happened after applying CU6...

Any idea / workaround ?

Hi,

According to your post, I understand that client cannot access to accented charters-named folder by IMAP after upgrade to Exchange 2013 CU6.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.

How about access to other name-type folder? Is it only occur on French locale?
Please try to run below command to double check the state of Exchange system component:
Get-ServerComponentstate -Identity servername

If the state is Inactive, please run below command to active relevant component:
Set-ServerComponentState <Identity> -Component component name -Requester HealthAPI -State Active
More details about Server Component States in Exchange 2013, please refer to:

Hello

Thanks for your post.

According to your post, I understand that client cannot access to accented charters-namedfolder by IMAP after upgrade to Exchange 2013 CU6.

That's correct

How about access to other name-type folder? Is it only occur on French locale?

Not quite sure how I would go to test it - as far I can see, regardless of the IMAP client used, other folders are accessible. To be really sure I guess I should telnet into the Exchange server on the IMAP port and run a few commands ?

Please try to run below command to double check the state of Exchange system component:
Get-ServerComponentstate -Identity servername

Here we go:

[PS] C:\Users\admin\Desktop>Get-ServerComponentstate -Identity "exch-au-01.domain.local"

Seems fairly normal to me ?

Hi!
Did you find any solution to your problem?

I have the same problem. But it is folders with all kind of names. I have CU8.

I have several folders and some of them give the "NO server unavailable 15." all of the folders are accessible from webmail and Outlook.

I'm afraid I still have the issue - installed CU8 but did not help. I really think it is a bug in Exchange 2013 / IMAP.
