Does the language locale setting on the computer without Exchange server match the language locale setting on the computer running Exchange Server? If not, thats the problem. There is also a not about this in the following kb: How to run Eseutil on a computer without Exchange Server http://support.microsoft.com/kb/244525 So, make sure you have the same language locale setting on both machines before running Eseutil.

If you were defragging data on a different server to the Exchange server, I can't see the link personally. Any other events logged on this server? What was the server doing at the time?Neil Hobson, Exchange MVP
