Exchange server's PDC replaced
Hi;I have Exchange 2003 installed on Standalonewindows 2003server. It is not a Domian controller. However, I need to replaced the Domain controller to which the exchnage server is configured to. So; the Exchange server is installed on server "A" whiles it's PDC is Server "B". I have installed another Server "Server C" which was joined to server "B" as a Backup Domain controller and was promoted tobe thePDC. the promotion went fine without a glitch. So now, Server B is a BDC while Server C is the PDC. the exchange server remains a standalone server. However, if I shut down the old PDC whichwas demoted to a BDC I cannot start the MSexchange Services. Can you help?

Hi,Yes, you can. Just make sure that Exchange is detecting both DCs/GCs in ESM -> Server -> Properties -> Directory Access tab and also verify that event id 2080 shows both DCs/GCs correctly.Event ID 2080 from MSExchangeDSAccesshttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/316300Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
