Hi,this looks like an infrastructure problem to me. Have a look at the EventLog to see if there are additional infos. Additionally, you might want to repost this message in one of the Admin forums as this is a development forum. You'll most likely get an answer there.Kind regards,Henning Krause

Not sure which version of IIS you have but looks like you are opening EMC and getting error for remote Exchange server, if you have IIS7 try by installing below hotfix... FIX: Error message when you try to administer a remote IIS 7.0 server and the impersonation level of the calling thread is set to Identify: "Exception Details: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Access is denied" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956301 In addition to post event log errors as Allen told, run ExBPA and verify that all look clean and not getting any error.Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Everytime I open the EMC, and when I go to the Server Configuration - Transport Mode, I get these errors. I am using IIS 6.0, so I don't think that's the problem... I opened the Event Viewer, and I noticed that theSystem presents some errors. I run ExBPA and got these errors, which some of them don't make sense to me:- Network interface driver file is more than two years old - Storage driver is more than two years old (the NIC card we are using is brand new) - DNS 'Host' record appears to be missing - 'TCPIP.SYS' driver- Unlicensed exchanged server found- Exchange server 32-bit- Microsoft Filter Pack not installed- Network interface is enable for DHCP (It is not enable for DHCP because I am using a static IP address)- Exchange resident on global catalog server (this is not a warning alert as the prior errors)I forgot to tell you that I am running Exchange 2007 on VMWARE (ESXi v3.5 update 5). In other words, I am using a virtual machine. I don't know if this fact may affect the operation of Exchange as well.

I restarted the system and went to the Event vierwer again, and under Applications, I noticed that there are some errors from the same application:Source: MSExchange System attendant Mailboxevent: 4001category: GeneralDescription: A transient failure has occurred. I checked this website, and everything was set already as this site explains. I am running Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2003, not 2008. Thanks though

Iset my SMTP configuration forinternal e-mail services. Since I am using Hub Transport server (under the organization configuration), I set the send SMTP connector, so for the FQDN I am using exchangeserver2.dventerprises.com; for the address space I have 10.0.1.7 (this is the DNS IP address) and checked the box that says "include all subdomains"; for the network tab,I chose "Route mail system (DNS) MX records to route mail automatically" and as smart host I have "exchangeserver2.dventerprises.com"; for source server, I have EXCHANGESERVER2 (which is the local name ofmy server) as default-First-site-name andits roles are mailbox, client access, unified messaging. On the hub transport under the Server configuration, I set thethereceive connector. I used "exchangeserver2.dventerprises.com" as my FQDN. I set All available IPv4 address for "use these local IP addresses to receive mail" and changed the port value to 24 (I don't know if this is right?).To receive mail from remote servers that have these IP addresses, I added 10.0.0.0 as the start address and 10.255.255.255 as the end address. All of the virtual machines found in the VmWare are using the 10.0.0.0 addresses, including the DNS (10.0.1.7). For the authentication method, only TLS is checked,a dfor permissions group only "anonymous users" is checked. Can you notice any wrong setting for the connectors??I am able to access to the OWA's website (my https website). Once I put a username and password and click logon. The pages load and inmediately I get this error message:! Outlook Web Access could not connect to Microsoft Exchange. If the problem continues, contact technical support for your organization.RequestUrl: https://exchangeserver2.dventerprises.com:443/owa/default.aspxUser host address: 10.0.1.7 ExceptionException type: Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ConnectionFailedTransientExceptionException message: Cannot open mailbox /o=DVEnterprise/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=cpumayugra1. can you please confirm the following: - Access denied issues when opening EMC. - Errors after log-on to OWA. if this is true, try following Amit's guide on how to re-create the virtual directors for exchange 2007 . http://exchangeshare.wordpress.com/2008/07/16/how-to-recreate-owa-virtual-directory-exchange-2007/ good luckMCSA Messaging
