Exchange erroe (! Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error  (0x80040107) : 'Could not open the item. Try again' )
i am using Exchange Server 2003 with windows 2003 Server. I am using Veritas Netbackup 6.5 for taking the backups of Exchange Server 2003. I can backup and restore the Exchange Server successfully via Veritas Netbackup 6.5. But when i restored the Mailbox i am not able to send and receive the emails via MS outlook. It gives me an error below but i can send and receive the emails via outlook web access successfully. ERROR ! Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x80040107) : 'Could not open the item. Try again' My 2nd issue When i restore my Exchange Server 2003 MailBox via Veritas Netbackup 6.5 my all emails are being doubled :( ..why?? Thanks in Advance Haseeb

my 1st issue is 50% resolved. i did the following - enable cache otion i Outlook - close Outlook - START-> RUN type : Outlook.exe /resetfolders But this is not good solution if i have more than 100+ users bcuz i have to go to all users PC and do the given solution :(Haseeb

Hi,- enable cache otion i Outlook- close Outlook- START-> RUN type : Outlook.exe /resetfoldersThat is the solution for this issue.I think you may need to create a startup script in GPO and then deploy to all the client computers.For the second issue,I'd like to know how did you exmerge the mailbox.Also I recommend you to contact support for Veritas Netbackup to get relevant help.Since weare not the expert on the product.Besides,I think you can try to use OWA to access mailbox to see if double email list there.More information to share with you which I found from Internet: Brick Level Backup of Mailboxes by using EXMERGEhttp://www.petri.co.il/brick_level_backup_of_mailboxes_by_using_exmerge.htmRegards,Xiu

How you restore the Mailbox? Do you overwrite the Contents of Mailbox? or before restoring it do you drag and drop the existing contents to PST? Technically Brick Level Backup is not a Good idea. as it breaks the OST synch. That is the reason you are getting the ! Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x80040107 as it tries to synch the OST with server. so one of the suggetion would be to download OAB as soon as you restore mailbox Start outlook click on Tools ->click on send/receive ->click on Download Address Book then uncheck Download changes from last send/recieve and then click on Ok Also take a look @ below suggetion provided by Xiu Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|
