Exchange email forwarding question
We have Exchange 2003. I need to create an alternate email address e.g. sales@mycompany.com and have those emails forwarded to one of my users. Yes this is easily done by setting the forward option under the message delivery options for the alternate contact I created. BUT how can I do this so that the email LOOKS LIKE its a fowarded message? Right now it just appears in the user's mailbox and the user cannot distinguish if it was intended for him or the other email address. I can't have users looking through email headers.

If you need to identify that, the best option is to enable forwarding through Outlook. The rule must be based on "from address" and should forward them to the right person. Good luck ShabaCheers Shaba

Hi, Agree with Shaba, if you would like to identify that who forward the email, you should choose Outlook rule. But the Outlook rule doesn't have to based on "from address", you can start from a blank rule and it will be applied to every message you receive. Best regards, SerenaPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

You can set it up in Exchange Rules Pro , e.g., by defining that every forwarded message has a phrase "FW" in the begging of the message subject. the rules you create within the program are easy to set up and adjust according to your needs, so I'm givin you just an example.
