Exchange and AD connections
We are running Exchange 2007 and 2010. In one of our sites, we need to perform some maintenance work on the DC's/GC's located there. I know Exchange periodically checks for local/out-of-site DC/GC's (Event ID 2080). Does anyone know if I can force this process at any particular point when we take down an AD server? I know Exchange should theoritically find another one automatically but just wondering if this can be forced by some particular command or action.

Quick and dirty method is to simply restart System Attendant once the DC has gone away. That will force Exchange to look for another DC. Simon. Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Hello, I think you can go to set one other DC on Exchange Server manually. Using the Configuration Domain Controller http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998227.aspx Thanks, EvanEvan Liu TechNet Community Support
