Exchange System Policy
Hi I have a system policy which is applied to our stores, limiting the size of inboxes. On the second store this is working fine, but on the first store it isn't. I have checked all the settings and they look correct. Limit is set, Notification is set for Midnight, and policy has been applied to each store. In the mailbox view I have added the column for storage limits. In the 2nd store this shows as either below limit or warning issued. In the 1st store this shows as "not checking" for every user. To troubleshoot, I have removed the policy from this store and applied at the store level, but no change. I have checked the users, and under limits on the email general tab they are set to use the mailstore settings. We are running Exchange 2003, SP 2 on Windows 2003 SP1. Any help in applying this would be great, As I want to get the mailboxes under control before we migrate to 2007. Dave

Do you have multiple policies applied on first store? If yes, in which order? Make sure the policy with restrictions is #1 in order.

I only have the one policy, and it is applied to both stores. Anything else I can look at?

That does sound very strange. Does it work if you apply a quota to an individual user? Have you rebooted the server in between changing from a policy-based setting to a database-level setting? I'm just thinking the Information Store service may need a stop/restart here. If that still doesn't work, I'd either try running isinteg to see if there's something wrong with the store (run in non-fix mode first to get a view of how good or bad things are), or create a new store and move a couple of users across - then try the quotas on a new store.
