Hi, is this sevrer has Share Point also installed , this kind of behaviour have seen for both combination. Are you opening ESM on same sevrer where PF DB reside or from some other sevrer. can you try from a machine by installing exchange administrative tools. Anil

Checking the DB or looking at the event log has nothing to do with the problem. The error is related to http within ISS nothing to do with the DB. Thanks for your help but your suggestion are all incorrect

Please browse to the /ExAdmin (http://servername/exadmin) in Internet Explorer (IE), it should give an error 404 (or 503 in some cases) once you enter credentials, if the virtual directory has been recreated correctly Please specify the IP address in the “Web Site” tab of the “Default Web Site”, instead of “All Unassigned” Please verify the value of the “Application pool” is “DefaltAppPool” in the “Home Directory” tab of the “Default Web Site” Please reset/restart the IIS/ESM, and check the issue Also, please check the IIS log after reproduced the issueJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

Thanks James for pointing me in this direction... the problem was the Default Web Site was listening on port 83 & 443 and Exchange Redirector website on port 80. What i did was changed the Default Website to port 80 stop exchange redirector and re-start IIS. i successfully able to expand Public Folders.

I'm having this issue - I can't complete migrating my SBS2003 to SBS2008 properly unless I can get the public folders and calendars moved, so I have until next weekend to resolve this, or find another way around it. I've done a lot of googling and I can't see what the problem is. I'm getting pretty desperate. At the moment I have all the mailboxes on Exchange 2007 on the new server, but the public folders and calendars stuck on the old one still.
