Exchange System Files
What is the recommended installation location for the Exchange 2003 system files? Why? All of the storage performance guides, white papers, etc that I have read in the past always mentioned installing the Exchange Binaries on local attached storage and not SAN storage. I am looking for a reason why you shouldn't install the binaries on SAN storage. I personally have always installed them on local attached storage. Thank you

I suppose if the SAN were to go offline it would be more detrimental to your Exchange installation than if it were to simply loose connectivity to the databases and log files.
