Exchange Server licensing question
HiIf I install all server roles (mbx, cas, ht) on the same hardware, I need just one license. But what if I install them on seperate hardware: - 1 server mbx - 1 server cas - 1 server htCan I install this scenario with one license, or do I need to purchase one license per server?I guess I need 3 licences, right? Is there a difference for a ccr cluster? I know that I need one license per node. But because only the mbx server role can be clustered, I mustinstall at least one new server for the cas and ht roles. May I install a cas/ht server with the same license?RegardsPeter

Hi,Licensing questions are best asked to your software vendor, but you will need one exchange server license for each server you install exchange on (and if you install a CCR cluster it must be the enterprise version - the HUB/CAS can be the standard version).Leif

I think you need to buy additional licence per server because as per site... -==-==-==-==-How to Buy Exchange Server 2007-==-==-==-==- Licensing Modes Exchange Server is licensed in the Server / Client Access License (CAL) model.
