Hi, As the performance of exchange server 2007 was very slow and send/receive of emails was taking long time, i started the exchange troubleshooting assistant and it gave the following results : The transaction log files for storage group "FIRST STORAGE GROUP" do not have a dedicated drive. The transaction log files for storage group "FIRST STORAGE GROUP" share drive C: with C:\Program files\Microsoft\Microsoft Exchange sever\mailbox\second storage group\public fodler database.edb. And the results for the Microsoft Exchange Server Analyzer Tool is as follows. In general, you should have different volumes (spindles) for your databases and transaction log files. This will usually increase performance, as the access pattern for databases is mostly random read and write, and for transaction log files it's sequential write. There are 73 mailboxes on this server and some users mailbox has around 500 MB and some around 1 GB.Nayeem Mohammed Network Administrator

Putting Exchange Database on same drive as operating system and page file (you have only one drive so page file is on it) is not recommended. You should have a drive for OS: C:\| A drive for Exchange Database: for example D:\ A drive for logs: lets say E:\ do you have sufficient memory on the server? If this server holds all the three basic roles -- Mailbox, Hub Transport and Client Access -- you should have 8 GB RAM. You should, as noted above, have three volumes, at a minimum RAID 1 for all three volumes. 1. As mentioned, add more RAM, find out what make/model your server is, contact vendor and ask for suitable RAM. 2. At the same time, ask vendor for suitable disks, hope that you have enough slots for additional disk. 3. If not, then I do recommned you get another server, which has the right hardware specs for your env and move mailboxes acorss. To help you spec the server, you can use the exch calculator to help. you. 4. I dont see any other way of doing this.Sukh
