Exchange Server e-mail tagging wrong identities
I have a user, Smith Steve M 123 COMM/CCG who sends out a good deal of emails. However, when some people recieve his emails they look like they are from Steve Smith M 654 MXAS/OCS, which is a completely different person. That person's address, Steve Smith M 654 MXAS/OCS, isn't listed in the GAL and they don't even have an account at this location. Any idea's why this is happening and how it can be fixed? -Kris

Hi, Are you sure that the problem is at your end? Could be that Outlook in the other end translates the address wrong - try to have the recipient open the mailbox in OWA and see what the senders display name is. Leif

It's renaming it in his sent items box, but the people getting the emails see it from the correct one in their inboxes. When the email is replied to or forwarded, the wrong address pops up there as well. Both individuals are so disconnected from each other I can't see any possible way their addresses could even link up. The wrong address guy dosen't even have an account on the server and the address no longer exists in the GAL anywhere.

Hi, Did you check his sent items folder through OWA to see if the problem also occur here? Leif

He is not using OWA at all, just Outlook 2003 SP3 so I don't know if its doing that for his OWA mail, howeversince he is getting mail in his sent items folder that are from that address I believe it would show up with OWA as well.
