Exchange Server Suddenly Won't Send Mail Out
After running great for 2 years suddenly for the last 24 hours, very little or no email is going out of the Exchange Server. Local mail within the 1 site domain is processing normally. Windows Server 2003 Ent, SP2 Windows Exchange Server 2003, SP2 I have checked several blacklist checking sites and the IP address and domain are not blacklisted anywhere DNS seems to be fine, I can ping outside addresses from the Exchange server After re-booting the server, I see the following messages in the Application Event View: Source: MSExchangeTransport Category: SMTP protocol Event ID: 7002 "This is an SMTP protocol warning log for vitual server (my server)........ "The remote host "208.65.145.2", responded to the SMTP command "rcpt" with "451 Could not load DRD for domain (outgoing domain and email address listed). The full command was "RCPT TO: <outgoing email address>". This may cause the connection to fail". Another said: Event ID: 7004 "This is an SMTP protocol warning log for vitual server (my server)........ The remote host "65.54.188.110", responded to the SMTP command "mail" with "550 OU-001 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons". Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems............." Most of the mail just seems to be sitting in the Exchange queue. Any help?

Hi, Can you be more specific about the mail flow? Check smtp for relay settings.. if its not an open relay... Is there a sendmail, smarthost, a server in between, something that relays the message to another server Greetzz, Timmy

Hi, Can you be more specific about the mail flow? Check smtp for relay settings.. if its not an open relay... Is there a sendmail, smarthost, a server in between, something that relays the message to another server Greetzz, Timmy Thanks for the response. It is working fine now. As I said, everything worked fine for two years, then all of sudden, emails were not going out. I found out the block of IP addresses that my ISP has us on (Embarq is the LEC and is the ISP in Las Vegas) was on some spam lists because of another mail server in my block of addresses. I got that cleared up and now it's working fine. Thanks for all of your help! Mike
