Exchange Server 5.5 need help ???
Hi, I am currently working on Exchange Server 5.5, and we have only single site in exchange organization. Now problem is that i need to add additional smtp address in site addressing, but i am unable to do that. Can u suggest me whether this is feasible to add additional smtp address in site addressing. Also I know that i can add additional smtp address on a per user basis, but this tends to be a manually done task for each and every user, and also this will take a lot of time to add the smtp address for large number of users. Kindly suggest some remedy for this issue. Thank you in Advance.Regards,Zafrul Khan

You can perfer bulk changes in Exchange 5.5 by using the Directory Export and Import features. See the Bulk Fixes section in this article: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Exchange-55-Directory-Migration-Exchange-2003.html Ideally you would export the information for your user set, modify the data in Excel, and re-import the changes back into Exchange. This procoess can be a little tricky and if performed improperly can seriously hose the directory, but if you read up on the subject and perform some tests first, it will work fine.

Hi jeff, The scenerio is like that I have 2 company xyz.com and abc.com.now both companies using Exchange Server 5.5. Now both companies are going to merge and wants to come under same Email domain name RPX.com.Both companies want to put email address same as @RPX.com.when these both companies change Email addresses as @RPX.com.and set as Reply address is @RPX.com. Any user from previously named domain xyz.com(current is RPX.com) sends email to abc.com(current is RPX.com).the user get delivery failure notice because it shows that the user is not in GAL.Can it be possible that user from xyz.com(current is @RPX.com) send email to abc.com(current is @RPX.com) by someway. There is one solution to create custom recipient for both organisation.for xyz.com create custom recipient of abc.com and vice versa. Is there any other solution so user from abc.com(currently @RPX.com) sends email to xyz.com(currently @RPX.com) goes as external mail ?Waiting for a kind responseThanks in AdvanceZaf
