Exchange Server 2007 install questions
I just installed Exchange 2007 and have some questions. - The domain defaults to .local and when I create new users it also defaults to .local I would like my domain to be name@whaever.edu How do Ichange this? - I need to publish the (OAB) Offline Address Book with an Internet Information Services (IIS) virtual directory in order for Outlook 2007 to access and download the OAB? How doI do this?

You need to create a accepted domain for whatever.edu first to accept mails for it and then create an email address policy for it and apply it to all users. Point MX record to your edge/hub transport server to receive mail from outside based on your internet mail flow. How to Create Accepted Domains How to Create an E-Mail Address Policy How to Configure Connectors for Internet Mail Flow Follow this article to create OAB virtual directory. So here is the procedure to configure the mail flow from Hub transport from internet if you didnt configured it yet. How to Configure Internet Mail Flow Directly Through a Hub Transport Server Then configure and point MX record to Hub transport or according to your network routing.

One thing I am not sure about is the Domain? I did set up the Accepted Domain in the install as test@isle.edu. I want all the new users (new mail boxes) I set up to have john@isle.edu not the default john@itest.local. Thanks

You need to set @isle.edu as reply/primary and not isle.local, check the procedure here... New E-Mail Address Policy Wizard > E-Mail Addresses Page
