Exchange Server 2007 cannot be installed
Hi, I've just installed SBS Std 2008 right out of the box on a HP Proliant Server. And one of the installation issues is: Exchange Server 2007 cannot be installed. The only recommendation afforded by Microsoft's Link and Help Online is to restart the server. Has this problem occurred to anyone?

For this post you should use the SBS 2008 News Group. The SBS 2008 installation is very different from an Exchange installation.https://connect.microsoft.com/default.aspx You might also want to consult this information:https://msmvps.com/blogs/bradley/archive/2008/11/02/signing-up-for-the-sbs-2008-newsgroups.aspx Jon-Alfred Smith MCTS: Messaging MCSE: S+M

I have posted there and awaiting an answer. Can anyone please tell me in here how to fix the issue? I can't even continue the migration until this part is fixed! But mine was a migration from sbs 2008 to sbs 2008

With SBS migrations you have to be careful with what you are doing. Did you follow the procedures described here:Migrate to Windows Small Business Server 2008 from Windows Small Business Server 2008http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc664208(WS.10).aspxIf so, tell us -- or better SBS MVPs -- at which point you get an error. Then it will be much easier to help. But an SBS migration scenario belongs to the SBS news group.BTW, check out this:SBS 2008 Migration DocumentsFor those of you who may have missed it ... new documentation for migrating to SBS 2008 is now available for viewing or download. This covers both SBS 2003 to SBS 2008, and SBS 2008 to SBS 2003 scenarios.http://msmvps.com/blogs/kwsupport/archive/2008/12/20/sbs20008-migration-documents.aspxMCTS: Messaging | MCSE: S+M | Small Business Specialist

Same here on IBM x3400. (And I though my trouble would be over after changing the plan from 2 virtual servers to 1 bare metal server.) Jaap VonkVonkjes Computer Service. We solve your computer problems.

I solved this issue by recreating the RAID configuration with the IBM BIOS utility without allowing GPT. I think the utility uses the abriviation BGI for the same thing. IBM Server Guide Installations of Microsoft SBS 2008 Premium allways failed for me due to always creating GPT formatting. A plain Windows SBS installation worked. Vonkjes Computer Service.
