Exchange Server 2007 SP1 on Windows Server 2008 R2
I'm trying to install Exchange 2007 SP1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and for some reason the mailbox role fails to install, I tried the same on Windows Server 2008 and worked just fine, is that a known issue?I do get an eror code, but I don't have it with me right now.Do we need to wait for Exchange 2010 to useitwith 2008 R2?Thanks in advance,

Yes, Exchange 2007 SP1/SP2 are not supported installing on Windows 2008 R2. But Exchange 2010 works perfectly fine with it... I found the following and it worked for me while trying to install Exchange 2007 SP1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition:Mailbox RoleFailed Error:An error occurred. The error code was 3221684229. The message was Access is denied.. Elapsed Time: 00:01:18Resolution:If you're trying to install Exchange 2007 SP1 with Windows Server 2008 R2 (build 7100) and you get this error message when attempting to install the Mailbox role, if you right-click on the setup.exe file and cloose the run it in compatibility mode (I chose Vista SP1) then the mailbox role successfully installs.Hope this helps.
