Hi, I have a problem.Few perfmon objects of Exchange server 2007 (like MSExchangeUMCallAnswer) have no instances. Can someone please tell me how I can get these instances or what should be installed to get these instances ?? Thanks in advance Subramanian

Hi, We can monitor Unified Messaging server role without SCOM. There we found MSExchangeUMCallAnswer counter which identifies that Calls Disconnected by Callers During UM Audio Hourglass. It shows the number of calls during which the caller disconnected while Unified Messaging was playing the audio hourglass tones. We can use Performance Tool from Administrative Tools, click on icon like + to add counter: MSExchangeUMCallAnswer. If you are using SCOM to monitor Exchange, then please try to clear read the Exchange Management Pack for SCOM 2007. Collect: MSExchangeUMCallAnswer: Call Answering Voice Messages (Report Collection) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb218121(EXCHG.80).aspx Whatever you want to use to monitor Unified Messaging server, we must ensure that we have Unified Messaging server installed. If it is not the case, then I need to know where do you want to add the instance, what is the monitoring application. If possible, please post the screenshot here. Hope it helps. Xiu

Hi I am using the Performance tool to monitor. The problem is I don't have instances to add. When I Select counters on the left pane ( " Select counters from list " ) , i get the option " <No Instances> " on the right pane ( "Select instances from list" ), and the "Add" Button is greyed out. For few counters the "Add" button is enabled, but there are no instances to select. List of counters for which the instances are disabled ( or there is no instance to select ) MSExchangeUMAutoAttendant MSExchangeUMAvailability MSExchangeUMCallAnswer 4. MSExchangeUMFax 5. MSExchangeUMGeneral 6.MSExchangeUMSubscriberAccess 7.MSExchange Attachment Filtering 9.MSExchange Connection Filtering Agent MSExchange Content Filter Agent 11MSExchange Protocol Analysis Agent 12 MSExchange Recipient Filter Agent 13 MSExchange Sender Filter Agent 14 MSExchange Sender Id Agent 15MSExchangeFD : UM 16 What should be done to get the instances for these counters ??
