Exchange Server 2007 / SBS2008 - email sent or copied to myself not delivered to inbox
message appears to be sent and does get placed in the sent folder but isn't delivered to inbox. "Standard" SBS2008 exchange server installation. Thought the might be a policy that prevents this from happening but can't find anything. Extensive internet search not providing any clues but I'm a newbie and may not be asking the right question. Going through the docs hasn't helped either.can anyone point me in the right direction to resolve? Thanks

So basically, when you are trying to send email, its not reaching recipients mail box but you can see that you in your sent items folder.Try in steps;1. Can you send email to your self?2. Can you send email to internal user?3. Can you send email to gmail or yahoo accounts? Also check the message tracking and see where is this getting delayed. Check the SMTP queue's on the server. Please post the results here.Raj

Yes, you can send to yourself. No policy that prohibits this. Do others experience problems with mail delivery? If so, you can experience these symptoms when the Exchange Transport service is down. Sometimes this service does not start after a reboot of SBS 2008, at least if you have not applied the latest patches. From the Exchange Management Shell (EMC), issue this command: PS] C:\>Test-ServiceHealth Role RequiredServicesRunning ServicesRunning ServicesNotRunning ---- ----------------------- --------------- ------------------ ---- Edited ---------- Hub Transport False MSExchangeADTopology MSExchangeTranspor MSExchangeEdgeSync t MSExchangeTransportLog Search The above is edited. You'll see a lot more information. In order to start the Transport Service: [PS] C:\>Start-Service MSExchangeTransportMCTS: Messaging | MCSE: S+M | Small Business Specialist
